Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems
Code and Maintenance Requirements
Kitchen Fire Suppression systems must always be maintained in operable condition. Additionally, they must be inspected monthly and semi-annually per NFPA-17 or NFPA-17A and NFPA-96 standards, a report must be recorded, and a record tag must be securely attached. The semi-annual inspections include, but are not limited to, mandatory tasks such as testing the appliance fuel shut-off and ensuring the discharge piping is not obstructed. Unfortunately, not all fire equipment service contractors comply with these requirements, which puts unnecessary liability on the client. Don't hesitate to contact our office for more information on the maintenance requirements of your specific equipment.
